Global Youth Meaningful Work survey: Now open

Date: 20 October 2023

On 20 October 2023, we officially launched the Youth Meaningful Work survey in collaboration with Y Australia and Deloitte Australia.

Designed by young people for young people, the survey asks young people ages 18-35 around the world what Meaningful Work means to them, their experiences of work, their aspirations for the future and what support they need to achieve these. It is part of our work around the second Pillar of YMCA Vision 2030.

“At the YMCA, we dream of a world where all young people can access decent jobs and Meaningful Work”, said World YMCA Secretary General Carlos Sanvee. “To achieve that dream, we need to better understand the experiences of young people”.

The goal is to collect responses from 50,000 young people across the globe. It will provide a strong evidence base to help the YMCA and its partners design solutions for young people, with young people.

In the weeks leading up to the survey launch, 80 Youth Champions from around the world met virtually to help finalise the survey and learn more about distributing the survey to young people.

“The support of our champions will make sure the survey provides the evidence we need to design the right solutions”, said Y Australia CEO Tal Karp. Click here to learn more about the partnership with Y Australia and Deloitte Australia.

The survey is open for 8 weeks – from Thursday 19 October to Friday 15 December 2023 – and takes around 15 minutes to complete.

It will be provided in French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Hindi.
