YMCA Argentina

1902

YMCA Argentina was first established in Buenos Aires in 1902. A second YMCA branch was established in Rosario in 1929 and later a third in Bahia Blanca. YMCA Argentina gained full member status with the World Alliance of YMCAs in 1972. In 1983, YMCA Argentina became a National Movement. Currently, YMCA Argentina has 16 different operating units across the country. The main programmes YMCA Argentina operates are categorized under camps, childcare /children’s programs, communication, Christian education, development, education and training, employment and economics, environment, health, indigenous, international, leadership training, women, and youth. Activities in these programmes include sports camps, formal education, theatre, community development, and language courses.
